When we picked Howard up at the Shelter he was just a bit older than 4 months. He weighed 28 pounds. Now he is 6 months old and weighs 46 pounds. He still has not grown into his paws. We're thinking he will end up around 80 pounds or so.

We might need a bigger bed...

Swimming lessons

Howard has been going on lots of hikes up in Briones. He's now starting to learn how to swim. I think that his technique on the way out needs a bit of work... But he looks good on the way back!

New Parents are Exhausting!

I'm settling into my new house. So far I like it a lot. I've got lots of new toys and Mom and Dad are really nice to me. They do kind of hog the bed though...

The last day or so has been very tiring though. I had some guests over. Alice came and spent the night along with her Mom and Dad. She is nice and she showed me some secrets about tearing apart toys in under a minute. She has skills.

This afternoon after lunch we've done a lot of chasing after toys and I'm kind of pooped. Hopefully they will go somewhere soon so I can get some rest.

Hi, I'm Howard

They called me Gavin at the Contra Costa Animal Shelter, but my real name is Howard. You'd think that it would have been obvious... I'm chilling at the shelter for another day before I get to go home. Something about getting "natured"? I didn't quite catch that. I'm sure it will be fun, then I get to go home to my new family. They are so lucky.
